2011 NITA winnerThe Lounge Hotel and Bar welcomes business and leisure guests alike. This boutique style hotel and bar is situated on King Street in the centre of the historic market town of Penrith, Cumbria. Our Lake District Hotel is located only 4 miles from Lake Ullswater and is easily accessed from junction 40 of the M6 halfway between Kendal and Carlisle, the Trans Pennine A66 route, the main West Coast Rail line from London to Glasgow, and also the Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle route. The Lounge Hotel and Bar is a great location for guests touring Cumbria and provides the perfect gateway to the Lake District. It’s position makes it a perfect resting place for both pleasure and business, with Penrith and Gilwilly Industrial Estate, being home to many national and regional businesses, including The Rheged Conference Centre and Visitor attraction.

The hotel offers guests a choice of accommodation consisting of single, double, twin or family rooms, on a bed and breakfast basis. Alternatively, we have a 3 bedroomed self contained luxury apartment accommodating up to 8 people and consists of 1 x Double, 2 x Twim rooms and a double sofa bed. The apartment is ideal for groups or larger families.

All rooms are spacious and decorated in contemporary style whilst offering the maximum in quality, comfort and relaxation. Free private car parking is available for your convenience.

As the name suggests The Lounge Hotel and Bar offers relaxed drinking and dining with a social atmosphere in modern yet chic surroundings. We have an extensive Wine and Cocktail list, with Beers of the World and a wide range of premium spirits, and a fantastic menu consisting of meze style dishes and sides, including platters to share, grill section and sandwiches, all homemade and freshly prepared by our in house chef’s. We also offer Party Package menu’s for larger groups, Afternoon Tea, and a “Time Out Menu”.

The Lounge Hotel and Bar offer Promotions and Events on a regular basis, including our popular Monthly Wine Club, Acoustic sets performed by local, talented, charasmatic artists on our Acoustic Sundays.
